RideQuest by FreeBikers

Terms of use

Version 1.0 · 2026-09-09

1. Who operates RideQuest

RideQuest is operated by Rajinder Pal Singh Grover under the name FreeBikers, a personal hobby activity at Frejasvej 9, 6000 Kolding, Denmark ("FreeBikers", "we", "us"). FreeBikers does not currently have a CVR number.

Contact: support@freebikers.dk

Your motorcycle club creates and administers its own challenges. The club decides the destinations, clues, check-in radii, dates, participant eligibility, leaderboard setting and challenge rules.

2. Accepting these terms

These terms apply when you create or use a RideQuest rider account, join a challenge or use a RideQuest certificate. By accepting them, you confirm that you have read and agree to them. If you do not agree, do not create an account or join a challenge.

You must be legally capable of entering into this agreement. If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must approve your use of RideQuest and any payment.

3. Your account

You must provide a valid email address, your correct first and last name, your club membership number and the club to which you belong. A rider may belong to one club in RideQuest at a time.

Keep your password confidential and do not let another person use your account. Tell us promptly at support@freebikers.dk if you believe that somebody has accessed it without permission.

You may correct your name and change your language or password in the app. You may leave a challenge or delete your account in the app. Account deletion requires your password and removes your account, challenge enrolments, progress and photographs. Payment records may be retained in a form that no longer identifies you, as described in the Privacy Notice.

4. Licence, motorcycle and insurance

RideQuest does not verify your driving licence, motorcycle registration, roadworthiness or insurance. By participating, you confirm that:

• you hold the licence required for the motorcycle you ride;

• the motorcycle is road legal and safe to use; and

• you have the insurance required by law.

You are responsible for continuing to meet those requirements throughout a challenge.

5. Safety

RideQuest is a location challenge, not a navigation, traffic-warning or emergency service. A destination, clue, map or check-in radius is not an instruction to use a particular road, stop in a particular place or enter private or restricted land.

You must choose a lawful and safe route, obey traffic rules and signs, respect landowners and other road users, and park and handle your phone safely. Do not operate the app or take photographs while riding. Stop only where it is lawful and safe. Weather, traffic and road conditions always take priority over a challenge, time, score or placing.

You remain responsible for deciding whether to start or continue a ride. Leave or postpone a challenge if conditions are unsafe.

6. Check-ins

A normal check-in requires two photographs: one of you and one of your motorcycle. When you submit, RideQuest records your GPS position, distance from the destination, reported GPS accuracy, whether the phone reports a simulated location, the difference between the phone's clock and the server clock, the photograph time and the submission time.

Location is read when you submit a check-in. RideQuest does not continuously track your route or collect background location.

A check-in outside the club's radius is refused automatically. You may retry or ask your club to review the matter. Refused attempts are recorded so repeated false-location attempts can be identified.

You must not falsify a check-in, use a simulated location, alter a device clock to misrepresent an event, submit another person's photographs, interfere with RideQuest or try to access another rider's or club's data.

7. Photographs and other content

Only upload photographs that are relevant to the check-in and that you are entitled to use. Avoid including bystanders, registration papers, home addresses or other unnecessary personal information.

You keep ownership of your photographs. You give your club and FreeBikers the limited right to store, display and otherwise process them only as needed to operate the challenge, show your progress, verify check-ins and produce certificates, in accordance with the Privacy Notice and the club's instructions.

8. Leaderboards

The leaderboard is off by default. A club may choose to show everyone, show only the top three, show rankings only after the challenge has ended, or show nobody.

When a leaderboard is enabled, another rider in the same challenge can see only your first name and position. They cannot see your surname, membership number, email address, photographs or location.

You may opt out of club leaderboards in the app without affecting your progress or certificate. A placing can still appear on your private certificate when the club has enabled rankings.

9. Certificates

When the completion requirements set by the club are met, RideQuest may produce a certificate containing your name, membership number, club, challenge, start and finish dates, number of check-ins, motorcycle photographs with place and time, and, when rankings are enabled, your finishing position.

Certificates are generated from stored challenge information. A certificate may no longer be available after the underlying information or photographs have been deleted. A certificate confirms only the result recorded in RideQuest; it is not an official licence, insurance, identity or safety certificate.

10. Free and paid challenges

A challenge may be free or have a joining fee. The complete price and any challenge-specific conditions are shown before payment. Payments are handled by PayPal. FreeBikers does not receive your payment-card details.

Paid rider joining is not active at the date of this version. Before it is activated, the Withdrawal Acknowledgement and Refund Terms published with these terms will apply. For a challenge scheduled for a particular date or fixed period, the statutory withdrawal right may not apply because it is a leisure service for a specified date or period. Where a statutory withdrawal right does apply, the checkout and confirmation email will explain it.

11. Availability and changes to challenges

We aim to keep RideQuest available but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Maintenance, faults, network coverage, GPS availability, the rider's device or services outside our control can affect use.

The club may correct or change its challenge, including a destination, clue, radius, date or leaderboard setting, where reasonably necessary. Material changes to a paid challenge are handled under the Refund Terms and mandatory consumer law.

12. Suspension and termination

Your club may remove you from its club or challenge. FreeBikers may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect users or the service, investigate misuse, comply with law or act on the club's lawful instructions. Where practical, we or the club will explain the reason and allow you to respond.

We may terminate RideQuest on reasonable notice. Mandatory consumer rights and rights relating to a paid challenge are unaffected.

13. Responsibility

FreeBikers is responsible for providing the RideQuest software with reasonable care. The club is responsible for the challenge it creates and administers. You are responsible for your motorcycle, route, conduct and compliance with the law.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so is prohibited by law, including liability for fraud, deliberate misconduct, gross negligence or personal injury for which liability cannot lawfully be excluded. Your mandatory rights under Danish and EU consumer law remain in force.

14. Intellectual property

RideQuest, its software, design and FreeBikers material may be used only for personal participation in an authorised challenge. You may not copy, sell, reverse engineer, scrape, interfere with or commercially exploit them except where mandatory law permits it.

Club-created names, clues, destinations and other club content belong to or are the responsibility of the relevant club.

15. Personal data

The Privacy Notice for Riders explains what is collected, who can see it, the roles of your club and FreeBikers, retention, recipients and your rights.

16. Changes to these terms

The version and date appear at the top. Changes that materially affect an existing account or paid challenge will be communicated before they take effect where required. A change does not remove rights already earned under mandatory law.

17. Complaints and applicable law

Contact support@freebikers.dk first. A complaint concerning a club's challenge may be sent to the club through the app.

These terms are governed by Danish law, without depriving a consumer of mandatory protection under the law that otherwise applies. Disputes may be brought before the competent Danish courts or another competent consumer dispute body. Information about Danish consumer complaints is available from Nævnenes Hus at https://naevneneshus.dk.
